I Love Rain

I Love Rain

I love the rain
As tender as a lover’s kiss
On the lips of the parched earth
That soaks me with longing

I love the rain
The incessant deluge
That threatens to drown my world
And wash away all memories

I love the rain
Thunderous applause
Accompanied by lightning streaks
Orchestra to my broken heart

I love the rain
That camouflages my tears
As innocent raindrops
On the blank canvas of my face
