I Wait

I Wait

I wait
For buds to bloom
Cradled in my thick boughs
As they entice the bees and birds
Sweetly.

I wait
For the warm sun
To bring me back to life
Like a mother and nurture me
All day.

I wait
For crunching leaves
With shades of red and brown
Falling gently to the ground with
A sigh!

I wait
For white snowflakes
That fall and cover me
In a soft blanket, that glistens
Each night.

I wait
For the seasons
As they vow to return
Every year, until the end of
My time.
