October

October

October enters with its rich platter
There’re auburn hues of the falling dry leaves
Festivities beckon the forlorn souls
It’s time for rejuvenation and hope
Yesteryear’s grime will now be erased
Once again the evil will be conquered
Once again the retrieval will steal hearts.

Let us imbibe jaunty enthusiasm
Let’s sing, dance and paint our lives with colours.
Let’s not just bow down to the goddesses
Let’s not mistreat the women living here
Let our eyes be opened to what is true
Let the trishul vanquish what’s bad inside
Let’s welcome the new year with happy smiles.

  1. A very beautiful poem, rich in imagery. The theme of festive spirit is woven into the fabric of the poem. Really enjoyed it.
