A Day in my Life

A Day in my Life

Days and nights seem the same
As I wonder who is next
Standing stuffy in the suit, I see who just came

None of this they taught me in any text
Someone’s going to be wrapped up again today
As I wonder who is next

Gasping for breath, as the stretcher makes its way
I hear she needs a ventilator
Someone’s going to be wrapped up again today

As I plug in the tubes a few seconds later
Praying to the Lord, may she take a breath
Again, I hear she needs a ventilator

As I struggle to revive her, I hear of death
In the neighboring room of a young lad
Praying to the Lord, may she at least take a breath

Her condition gets better that makes me glad
But cries I hear make me wonder if life’s a game
In the neighboring room of the young lad
Days and nights seem the same.
