An Idiomatic Expression

“Its raining cats and dogs.”
I sighed.
“Cats and dogs
Are the only ones
Getting drenched,
Anyways.”
Maa retorted,
Dabbing a fistful of
Gratitude on the chapati
sneering at me
From the counter.
“You are a jack of all trades,
Aren’t you, ma?”
I jeered, impulsively.
“Jacks boil blood
Burn their toil,
Alongside the midnight oil,
For the Master, after all,
Is just one.”
My idioms are idiots, after all.
