Elegy

Now the flowers fade and now they fall
Even in Spring comes the reaper’s call

All through the long days of my youth
I searched for that most elusive Truth

So many years have come and gone
Leaving me dejected and forlorn

Countless stars have died in the night
Many more have never seen the light

In time all things forever come and go
Drowning the world in eternal sorrow

One morning the sun will forget to rise
And the ebony void shall fill my eyes

There shall be no more joy nor despair
Only unending oblivion everywhere.
