Facade

Facade

Recognized for being bold and cheery,
a brave woman, they say.
I have things to utter, my heart trembles.
Do they truly know me?
Words have been indeed rehearsed all day long,
felt good, do they matter?
Overcomer, a strong woman, they say.
Words that I love to hear
Exchanged with a smile, don’t be a fool.
Trying to conceal,
do you consider this as bravery?
With grin, mask my fears.
I am a woman.
Resolutely, I claim.

  1. Very well written – simple, comprehensible words loaded with substance. Yes, a woman indeed masks her inner fears and presents a brave front. The syllable count is in place though the rhyming needs a relook. Good luck for your future endeavours.
