Hiroshima Shadows

Hiroshima Shadows

Hiroshima, the bomb blast shook our core
Haunting shadows were imprinted for days
Sixth August nineteen forty-five haunts many more
Enola Gay, the atom bomb wiped rays

The visibility was shunned everywhere
Hiroshima, the bomb blast shook our core
The rising death toll warned us to take care
Eighty thousand bodies scattered the shore

More pain, massive destruction was in store
“Little Boy” and “ Fat Man” were codes chosen
Hiroshima, the bomb blast shook our core
We tried to bury it like a past folklore

The Oleander bloomed years later
We now continue to carry our chore
Yet, remember mankind is not greater
Hiroshima, the bomb blast shook our core.
