Last Meeting

Last Meeting

I knew you were sick but that much!
Eyes gave recognising flicks,
A bubbly girl lying helpless as such,
Body bearing a dozen pricks,

White as Lily was your delicate hand,
Almost drained of life,
My mind our entire lifetime spanned,
Once with joy that was rife

Tears trickled unabated as I did stand,
Prayers unanswered remained
For you were heading to Elysian land,
Where only bliss reigned,

Holding your hand stood helpless and pained,
Contemplating how time slips,
Each moment that your memory contained,
Still in my mind’s eye flips.
