Lessons Not Learnt

Lessons Not Learnt

Riverlike it swells, till a crescendo
Denouncing my ardent mother inept
Mocking that she wasn’t probably pronto
I smirked, in future, I will be adept

Life skills defy to be perfunctory
Riverlike it swells, till a crescendo
Though drudgery is key to the story
I wish it were a game of Nintendo

My failure wouldn’t be deemed innuendo
But, I dread to be summoned a disgrace
Riverlike it swells, till a crescendo
Memoirs that wouldn’t be easy to erase

My heart still grows as naive as a bairn
Tasks like these seem to be like tae kwon do
Not stones; metal alloys forming a cairn
Riverlike it swells, till a crescendo
