Mute Unmute

Mute Unmute

The little Sac inside my womb,
How I longed to ask, longed to hear the answers to my query
To those muted questions,
That sprang from my innermost being.

The little bundle of joy I held in my arms
The OOhs, AAhs, incessant cooing was inexplicable joy for me alone.
The Muted cry, the Unmuted joy
Tugged at my maternal strings.

That little bundle no longer so little
Passed on every message, thru a tear,
Laughs, an inexplicable sigh, yes a muted look
That said it all.

Over a cup of coffee we met
Years had slipped by, we are told.
The cup had turned, yes the other way around.
I cooed. gurgled, gasped.
She saw my muted sorrow, and gathered me into her arms,
Unmuted Joy Flowed.
