Satori

Satori

The evening hangs heavily upon me
Like the guilt of a thief in his own house
The glorious sun that owned the morning sky,
Is now a shadow, to merge with the dark

Hark! The evening sky conjures strange shapes
Melting into black, swallowing colors
Charms a breeze: and rains shivers down my spine
A specter appears to disappear; dream?

Somewhere melancholic music plays
The notes of sorrow seep into my heart
They prey upon my joy, my end is near
The specter and shadows re-emerge; death

Light, brilliant light; not black not white
Evening, day, and night; light and shadows
Death and birth, life and sickness; are now one
I needn’t have feared death; he is life…!
