‘You don’t belong here, you’re good for nothing’
Everybody’s screams and taunts fill her head.
She walks away with her head hung in shame,
Feeling dejected, forlorn, all alone.
She finds herself in an endless tunnel,
Filled with emptiness, darkness everywhere.
Her eyes brim with tears, she lets out a scream,
Her concealed emotions, at last expressed.
At the end of the tunnel she sees light,
A burning flame that’s a glimmer of hope.
She rises from an abyss of despair,
Shunning the shadows that had engulfed her,
And steps onto a new path of sunshine
Ready to face the world – her head held high.
