The Abyss of the Time

In depths of my soul is engraved your love.
Sitting lone on the top of the mountain.
With the drowning sun dies my hope to have
You by my side, to love me, caress me.
You did it again slaying my trust, and
Again your broken promise wins the game.
I sleep walk in the middle of the night,
Or wake up with a jerk, sweating, to find
Shadows of my shattered dreams all over,
Haunting me, chasing me, to hunt me down.
It dawns on me the goodbye day has come.
It is time that you and I go our ways.
Alone, I want to walk the path of love.
As I journey solo and things go wrong
Your memories cover and blur my thoughts.
I think to myself and question aloud
‘If love is meant to be, why do hearts break’?
