The Girl With The Kite

The Girl With The Kite

The girl ran up the hill with her red kite,
Wanting to catch the wind, to see it fly.
Holding the string tight, she sat down and watched,
Her kite soared up high, her heart rose with it.
She heard a bird sing and enjoyed the tune,
Feeling her heart beat in rhythm with it.
She felt the cool air ruffling her short hair,
And felt the soft grass under her bare feet.
She wished she could stay there forever more,
At peace with nature and creatures around.
The sun had set, it was time to go home,
The wind had dropped, her kite came drifting down.
Holding her kite close, she walked down the hill
She would be back again to catch the wind!
