The Rainbow

The Rainbow

Ready to burst dark storm clouds line the sky
Crowds vanish and city roads are forlorn
Thunderstorm drum rolls, Lightning blinds the eye

Wind playing a dreadful threatening tune
Thunderstorm pounding windows hard with fists

Nebula has faded colour of sky
Each cloud waiting to burst and rain all morn
In sadness awaiting answers to why

On ropes of mist lowered golden buckets
A spirit slides down a cloud amethyst

Between veils of misty clouds in the sky
Twinkling stars shining in raindrops all morn
Refuse to carry burden clouds fly high

Born to be thunderstorm always were they
Singing a soulful song through the raindrops

Parched earth’s thirst quenched and is no longer dry
Raindrops are now nourishing a mind worn
Like raindrops trickling down my misty eyes

Futile wait for the thunderstorm to pass by
Gear up for a joyous rhythmic rain dance

To drenched earth blossoms curtsey wet yet dry
Survived the rain but not sad and withdrawn
Cheerfulness and joy they never deny

The Sun smiling behind clouds in the sky
Spreading light though he rose on this late morn
Showery prism unfolds before the eyes
Rainbow never says thunderstorm is by.
