The Spring of Heartbreak

Oh Spring! Harbinger of my sorrow,
You are the reason I don’t believe in tomorrow.

The roses and the Jasmine that bloom,
For my poignant heart, it only spelled doom.

The day I waited with a bouquet for my love,
To confess my feeling in a private alcove.

The smile on her face told another story,
Her true love stood by her in all his glory.

She said he wooed her with the flowers prettiest,
Like the ones I held too for my beloved dearest.

My heart she couldn’t see through,
It was Spring when they said “I do”.

A million glasses shattered in my ears,
My sorrow now weeps forever in a spring of tears.
