The War of Gods

The War of Gods

They lie
Dead together
Men of differing faiths
Silent Reaper made them equal
In death

They die
Shot, gutted, beheaded
Faces beyond recognition

Their mothers wail
Loss of beloved son
At the altar of religion
Man made

Their dead eyes stare
At the futility
Of killing their friends for a God

For now
They know the truth
In the war of their Gods
Humanity was only one
Who lost!

  1. Such beautiful lines. Religion is man made and cause of divisions in humanity. Simple poem with such a deep message.
