Time Gone Past

Time Gone Past

Did you see that sly thing slither away?
Down your palm it went,
And now, you’ve none of it for the nonce.

Do you wish you had a handful more,
Or a cupful or maybe just a pinch?
Sad life though, isn’t it?

If it’s gone, it’s gone
And oops, it never takes a U-turn.
So, no use of sighing, now that it’s gone.
