Natasha's heartbeat was racing. Anxiety was reaching its peak. Her temples were sweating. The ambiance was pretty tense. She felt she would have a heart attack any minute. Lalita, her mentor, tried to pacify her, but she kept pacing the room in circles. It was the D-day. The results will be out any minute. Kamla, her friend, was sitting in one corner typing her login credentials.

Natasha was born to a wealthy family but was abandoned as an infant when her parents found out about her sexual orientation. She was given to an orphanage where she was sexually and physically abused several times. She ran away when she was thirteen. She lived on the streets for months. One day she saw a rally of the LGBTQ+ community. It was there she met Lalita, her mentor and inspiration.

"Oh no! The website hanged again!", sighed Kamla. All three felt dejected. Natasha was on the verge of crying. She has worked so hard for the last two years to crack this exam. Her mission and vision depended on this one result. She cannot fail.

"The Abandoned Souls" run by Lalita, has been Natasha's abode for ten years now. It inspired her and gave her the security, warmth, and confidence to live on her terms. She dreamt here for the first time. Earlier she used to have nightmares but now her eyes were full of goals and ambitions.

Lalita made sure Natasha got everything she required to fulfill her dreams. Natasha always wondered how her mentor managed everything, given how difficult it was for her community to even get a decent job. The mentee has always been in awe of her mentor's strength, confidence, and courage.

"Thank God! Finally, the site is working. I'll punch in the roll number before it hangs again.", Kamla announced. While Lalita and Kamla were glued to the monitor, Natasha looked at adorable and selfless ladies sitting in front of her. While Lalita toiled happily to provide for her, Kamla was her confidant. The two were inseparable. Kamla made sure Natasha was fed well and on time.

"YOU DID IT GIRL!", screamed Lalita, jumping with joy. The room which was breathing anxiety a few seconds before was now full of screams and laughs. The feminine energy in the room was bouncing in all directions. All three danced their hearts out.

The door has finally opened. Natasha, being a trans herself had always aimed to work for the welfare and development of her community. Today she has taken her first step towards her goal. She had cleared the entrance examination of Harvard University and enrolled herself in "The Neuroanatomy of Transgender Identity: Mega-Analytic Research" project. She became the first in her community to achieve this milestone.

The six eyes couldn't stop their happy tears as they kept dancing to the Bollywood numbers.
