This is a story of many moons ago,
when Hitler wanted
to rule the world.
A mere corporal in a war just concluded,
he saw himself as a hero
and set out to avenge Germany’s pride.
‘Visions of Grandeur’ had his rationale stolen;
he craftily declared himself-
the leader of the “Nazi’ party!
He first attacked Poland and claimed their land-
Denmark and Czechoslovakia followed suit
but soon he lost the plot!
Battle of Britain was his first roadblock,
and Battle of Stalingrad sealed
his ambition and fate.
Hitler’s fall in World War 2
is a lesson for us all- that beliefs and
hallucinations can be so self-defeating!

These lines, written by Vaishali in her poem, “Beautiful Life” defines her oeuvre. She
believes in living each moment and savouring every aspect that life has to offer. She realised
early on that life is not just a bed of roses but it has its shares of thorns too. Her writing-short
stories and poems, reflect this very reality.
A graduate of English literature and an alumna of IIMC (Journalism) she has also worked as
an educator and moulded young minds to fight injustice and live with honour. As a journalist,
she covered human interest stories, which helped her develop her writing and observation
skills. A prolific writer, she has been a recipient of many awards and certificates for her
stories and poems. Her debut book of poems, “Whispers of Immortality” published in July,
2022 has garnered rave reviews by poetry lovers.
A freelance editor, she has compiled and edited six anthologies and is currently working on
her seventh.
