‘I do’
Two little words
So simply said
But not so simple
Are words left unsaid.
‘I do’ means
We will be there
When star lights fade
Old memories haunt
And tears cascade.
It also means
When health fails
And greys appear
Keep our hearts entwined
Till the end is near.
And ‘I do’ means
We will thread the beads
When each pearl scatters
Making things right
Is all that matters.
‘I do’ also means
Not to be anxious
What the future holds
Steadfast we will stand
As each day unfolds.
