Yuletide

Yuletide

Winter
white drape on vales
small snow-flakes like shining
stars dangling from boughs, vision of
Christmas

Frost tipped
leaves, rimy twigs
Silver decked foliage…
On frozen lakes clouds of mist hang
like wraiths

Listen!
sounds of season
the flurry sighs softly,
cackling fire in hearth, murmurings
of Yule

look for
festive li’l homes
windows with fairy lights
fruitcakes and puddings glow golden
with warmth

Notice
squall of snow- dust
on firs and junipers
covering them with bright fireflies
like glow
