A Pregnant Pause

Amidst its whispers, I stood tall. Why did I bow to love's sweet call? I repent today as I fall. Oh, love is not so sweet, voiced my bitter experience, My heart continues to weep, losing all hope, in silence, It will not mend again; the torment is very intense. Pain, an uninvited guest, Does not let my heart to rest Wrecking life like a tempest. Will this ache linger? Thoughts make me shiver, Why me, I murmur.  Life, no more certain, Dark, like drawn curtain, Love's only burden.
