A Soothing Touch

My mind had stopped churning ideas; I took a small break

Stepped barefoot into the garden to feel the velvety grass

My hands reached out to caress the soft petals

Inhaled and exhaled the fresh air

Eyes blinked in sunshine

Lips smiled

Relaxed

Picked and held a handful of earth close to my bosom

My nose took a whiff of the strong earthy smell

Ears perked at the sound of twittering chirping birds

My heart beats joyfully, now stress-free

Comforted and soothed by

My mother
