A Tale Of Love
In a land far away, lived a maiden sweet
A princess by birth, she was pretty petite
Alas! She fell in love with a bard commoner
The king called their alliance a misdemeanour
And confined her inside the castle regal.
The bard was a charming man, quite wise
He sneaked inside the fort, in disguise
And tried to cajole his lover, forlorn
With pretty flowers, he tried to adorn
The fair lady, who stole his soul.
Their love blossomed like fair snowdrops in spring
They proved to each that it wasn't a mere fling
The kinsmen came and tried to shove
But none could dissever their love
Until they were buried live in the royal sepulchre.
