Blind Love
In spring this year when nature smiled
Her winsome eyes left me beguiled
She lived opposite my room from whose window
I would admire her and let my first love grow
Often she sat by her casement to watch the sky
Oh, her love for the birds and the clouds floating by
One fine day when I saw her looking at me
Hope thrilled my heart and I danced in glee
I resolved to reveal my feelings for her
I smiled at my love but alas, her lips didn’t stir
I smiled a second smile and yet she ignored
Miserable made me this coldness of the one I adored
I rushed to tell her I won’t see the morrow
But wept to find her eyeless and in sorrow
