Maggi a French tourist was visiting Goa and staying in a rented apartment. She was returning from a late-night party with Karan, a guest invited to the party. Gina requested Karan to drop Maggi as she is new in Goa, and I am tied down here with the guests so unable to go.

Karan agreed to give Maggi a lift. Karan was a charming fellow. He soon befriended Maggi and they started spending their vacations together. One night they were returning from the Casino when Maggi invited Karan for a nightcap. Karan accepted but he said, “He will make the drinks.”

Maggi showed him the bar and excused herself. After having the drink Maggi’s head started to spin and she was not feeling well.

She asked Karan, “If he has mixed something in her drink.”

Karan gave Maggi a malicious smile. He started kissing Maggi forcefully. Maggi tried to resist and fight his advances, but her body was drained of energy, and she fell unconscious. Karan had mixed a sedative in her drink. Karan raped Maggi several times and vanished from Goa.

The next day Maggi gained consciousness. She found herself naked in bed. Her whole body was in pain, and she had bruises on her body. Maggi called her friend Gina and explained everything. They reported the matter to their embassy and filed an FIR against Karan and registered a rape case against him.

Karan belongs to an influential family. His father was a D.I.G of the Punjab Police posted in Ludhiana. When they traced Karan and reached his home to arrest him. The Police team was shocked to learn about Karan's demise. His father told the police team, that Karan died in an accident a week ago.

The police did the investigation and gave the entire report of the case to the French authorities. French Embassy asked, “Maggi if she wanted to pursue the case and if she wanted reimbursement of any kind from his family.”

Maggi declined by saying my culprit was dead, and I did not want anything from his grieving parents. Please close the case he got punishment for his sins.

Seven Years Later

Fax and Email reached The French Embassy, Indian Embassy, and The Police Headquarters with proof and photographs of the person. Whatever was written in the mail and the proof shocked the entire authorities.

‘Karan Mehra’ alias now ‘Murli Kartik’ is the same person. Murli Kartik lives in Hyderabad and works in a multinational bank on a fake identity. He was Karan Mehra, the rapist. He staged his death to avoid imprisonment with the help of his influential father. 

But you cannot run from your past forever. Gina saw Murli Kartik at a conference and found him. She did her research and collected evidence against him. Then she sent the details to the authorities.

Karan alias Murli, his father got arrested and sent to rigorous imprisonment.
