Contented I Wait To Embrace Death

Contented I Wait To Embrace Death

I look back, how far life has come
keeping me strong, not turning full
circle like Shakespeare’s poem

Observing my chums, leaving me
one by one, I’m ready to board
not afraid to explore beyond

Will there be premonitions or
guiding light in a dark tunnel,
a bridge on a river to cross

Anxious about dying, not death,
wish, walk into oblivion
with a smile, without assistance

Let him account for deeds, assign
hell, or heaven, hope I did well,
feeling blessed, I pray till then

Turning a new page, I invite
my loved ones to celebrate
the eighty-sixth spring of my life
