Dare to Dream
That Little Girl, dressed in rags
Begging at the junction, hope in her eyes
Peering through my car window.
O Little Girl, scrubbing vessels,
Taking orders, serving tea,
Braving the vile stares of old and young.
Hark, Little Girl! Break all chains,
Reclaim your Dreams; Rewrite your Fate;
The future beckons you – Rise and Shine!!

Author’s note: The core idea mentioned in the poem is gender fluid – it applies to underprivileged children across all genders. I specified girls, only because we are celebrating our tribe this month.
