Dedication to Love and Duty
Those pages of the past...
How beautiful were those days when I met Mohan for the first time, I lost my senses...and we didn't even realise when we had cherished the dream of spending our lives together.
Today was the last day of college and Mohan said, “don't worry, I will convince my parents for our marriage.”
Then both of us came to our respective homes. About 2 months passed. One day Mohan called me and said that we are coming to your house within a week. Then I told my parents about it. They came to our place and our marriage was confirmed.
Then after 15 days we got married. But we can't understand anything about life. What will happen next? The day we got married, Mohan got a call from the army.
It seemed as if everyone's happiness had vanished. Then Mohan went to his duty.
It has been 3 months and I kept waiting for his letter.
Just then my mother-in-law's voice broke my trance and I came out of my thinking.
The next day, when I asked the postman about the letter, he said, "Mohan's letter has come today." And I opened the letter and started reading. It was a government paper, the moment I read it I was totally shocked. The postman asked me, "what happened?", then I said, “nothing is fine. Mohan's plane has crashed and there is no trace of him.” Then I returned home with a heavy heart. When I told this news to my parents in-laws, both of them fainted after hearing it.
Then I called the doctor. He started treatment. Both of them regained consciousness within 2 hours.
Bearing the burden of these sorrows, we started spending the day consoling each other.
One day the postman came home and gave a letter. I opened the letter, it was a government notice that whoever belongs to Mohan should come and take it from here. I decided to go.
Then I made a plan……
I sent this news to my parent’s in-laws through someone that the bus in which I was traveling had met with an accident. And there was no trace of mine
His parent's in-laws got another huge shock.
Then after 15 days the postman gave a letter to my parent’s in-laws. There was very good news for them, that Mohan, who was missing, has been found and he is coming next week. Hearing this, they became very happy. Next week Mohan returned. When Mohan came to know about Roopa, he became very upset.
Not even 2 months had passed when suddenly Mohan surprised his parents after coming home. Hearing the news of Mohan's arrival, I came out and removed the mask from my face and said, "Wow, Mohan has come”. Everyone, astonished to see me. Then I said, I had lied only for the happiness of my parent’s in-law.
The parents hugged both the children and their lives were filled with happiness.
'The end is just another beginning.'
