‘Fragmented’

Smiling, he rests in his casket
Jocund stars align to make room for him
Glistening moonlight rub against benumbed stillness
Dreams meld into the void basket.

Basket of promises lay bare
Lachrymal echoes in the mother’s eyes
Ephemeral life smiles with surreal delight
Supreme time reigns, bereft of care.

Care, love land on mute emotions
Dismal fragments hum an elegy song
Crooning lullabies; deafening, bawling silence
Desolate maternal notion.

Notion of horizons wailing
With royal death glinting at eventide
Unfulfilled motherhood thrusts agonizing hues
Burdened goodbyes scamper smiling!
