Girl Child

They are coming 
To see the girl
Said her uncle

But she hated
The word ‘girl’, sounded
like’ cattle’ in a fair

Being treated 
Like a princess
By her parents

Filling her with 
Dreams and  ambitions 
She blossomed, under them

Suddenly ,her uncle ‘s words
Like a splash of ice water
Made her gasp for air

Her dad disagreed
She was indeed very lucky
Though not all are
