In Desert Places
Far out in the desert
I found a garden grown wild
From the heat of the sun
And the water of visions
Glimpsed by wanderers of yore
Whose footsteps had vanished
In the uncountable particles
Of sands that had become
Like the everlasting stars
In the oasis of my dreams.
If you follow my path
Remember to stop and gaze
At the faraway horizon.
Don’t forget to pick up
A fistful of those starry grains
And ponder on the mysteries
Of how flowers blossom
Alone in the solitudes
Of a barren wasteland.
Only then you will realize
The garden I stumbled upon
Was the garden of my heart
That suddenly burst into flowers
At the thought of your presence
In the tomorrow of my life.
