Camouflaging themselves,
along the snow,
they marched along.
The prying eyes that they had
guarded the tall mountains,
and spotted every passer-by.
The pristine white was drenched in red,
as the air battle was christened
‘Operation Safed Sagar’.
On the ground, they chose
a name reflecting success,
‘Operation Vijay’, apt ain’t it?
Men, valiant and strong,
ousted the infiltrators
before getting martyred.
July 26 was the date,
when victory was lauded,
as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
