Pause

My body aches, like someone has beat me , I yearn for rest
Work is overwhelming. I cannot sleep until I rest.
The sleep – eternal, nodding the interrupting song
While silence plays, engaging a long fermata on rest.
Wake up and all would have been missed, and I would have turned deaf
But open your ears, and appreciate the sound of rest.
I imagine if we could be present during our sleep
We certainly would not miss the clicking sound of the rest.
Until you give in and listen, the music does not start
Pause - to whatever content in your mind, let yourself rest.
