Secrets Beneath The Tide

Where do the waves retreat when night is still?

Do they seek rest beneath the moon's pale light?

Or do they whisper secrets out of sight,

To stars above who listen from the hill?

Do waves dissolve into a gentle trill,

That echoes faintly through the quiet night?

Or do they wait in darkness for the light

Of dawn, to rise again with fierce will?

They gather strength from shadows in the deep,

And dream of shores where they will crash once more.

In silence, they prepare for morning's roar,

For in the night, the waves are never asleep.

They hold their breath until the sun's first gleam,

Then surge with life, fulfilling every dream.
