Self-Doubt

Those shadows appear when all’s quiet
Creep unseen into my serene space,
I shiver, the intruders have no face.
They stretch slow, lengthen in fading light
Chain me from doing what feels right.
Blur my victories and leave no trace,
Those shadows
My dreams crash before taking flight,
My mirror cracks without a grace.
But when I stride brave into sun’s warm rays
They shrink and disappear out of sight,
Those shadows
