The Beautiful Image

An impish nymph peers into the large looking glass Fashioning monkey faces, amusing herself Not ready to stand awhile As her  mother braids her hair Not a bit bothered by how she looks Shrugs her skirt and off to school she scoots Bidding adieu to her image…her friend of many years As she blooms into a young Venus Whiling away hours in front of the glare Toying with her tresses Startled by the sparkle in her eyes, Shine in her smooth skin, Beautiful dreams in her eyes As Juventus and Venus fill her with strength Though perturbed by varying emotions Forgets everything in front of Leibig’s  find All of a sudden she falls in love with her  own  Image of beauty Philia blossoms Narcissism  prevails Though only momentarily

Note: Juventus: Roman God of Youth Venus: Roman God of beauty Leibig: Inventor of mirror
