The Diet Duel

I swore I’d skip the chocolate cake—

Temptation called from far away!

My will began to bend and break—

Although I fought hard to keep the chocolate cake at bay!

The salad sat without a shake—

While cravings danced in bold display!

I knew indulgence was at stake—

But fries and cookies led astray!

The treadmill hummed for fitness' sake—

Its rhythm mocked my slow ballet!

Yet donuts whispered, "Come partake!"—

I tried to run, but chocolate cake did not let me stay!

Now scales reveal my sweet mistake—

And chocolate cake has won today!
