In the darkest corner where silence reigned,
In loneliness she sat shedding a deluge of tears,
Cobwebs and dust shrouded her vapid face,
Stories tarnished with tears manifested around her in rotating frames,
I gently embraced her cold body that quivered with fear,
She lifted her head and pleaded mutely,
I nudged her to vent out her piled up feelings,
Her intermittent words slowly transformed into lengthy monologues,
Her unfulfilled dreams, abandoned paths and abysmal tragedies–tugged at my heartstrings,
With pursed lips I patiently listened to her as the hands of the clock moved,
Slowly she regained her composure and her face beamed,
Myriad hues seeped into her monochrome world,
Her lips stretched into a gentle smile,
And eyes sparked with the warmth of nascent spring,
As she stood up at last harnessing the wind beneath her wings,
I lovingly ushered her through a gate illuminated by sunbeams…
Grief, was once her name,
But now renamed Hope she embarked on a new journey.
