The Lonely Old Woman
Lounging alone in the darkness
She heard the astute heaviness
Of the grandfather clock ticking
With a heavy sigh, sweat dripping, her heart restless
Thinking of the past, her childhood
Days she spent in the neighbourhood
Joy and happiness with her friends
Beautiful and lovely events of her girlhood
Then came the phase called as marriage
Which ended up as a scrimmage
She became a mother of two
As a single mother she grew, with all courage
Her kids left to some foreign land,
Beyond the seas, oceans and sand
Lonely without a companion
Without any interaction, a one man band
