Friends spreading cheerful bright light
Gossiping through woozy night!
Through storm and sun, we always tread, happy;
Mischievous giggles spread,
Joyous paths before us spread,
Friendship strengthens as we tread!
The cherished bond through the years grows, and soar;
Our dreams entwine and flow,
We weather the ebb and flow,
Together, we learn to grow!

We have to experience happiness and heartache for us to live and grow.’
These lines, written by Vaishali in her poem, “Beautiful Life” defines her oeuvre. She
believes in living each moment and savouring every aspect that life has to offer. She realised
early on that life is not just a bed of roses but it has its shares of thorns too. Her writing-short
stories and poems, reflect this very reality.
A graduate of English literature and an alumna of IIMC (Journalism) she has also worked as
an educator and moulded young minds to fight injustice and live with honour. As a journalist,
she covered human interest stories, which helped her develop her writing and observation
skills. A prolific writer, she has been a recipient of many awards and certificates for her
stories and poems. Her debut book of poems, “Whispers of Immortality” published in July,
2022 has garnered rave reviews by poetry lovers.
A freelance editor, she has compiled and edited six anthologies and is currently working on
her seventh.

A lovely poem that portrays the bonds and friendship. Since The Englyn Unodl Union is a syllabic poem, at times while trying to fit in the syllables , the words in the gair cyrch might get overlooked. Yours is a wonderful poem nevertheless.
